I'm Ben, an instructional designer. Designing learning programs is my day job, and it shapes how I build every lesson on this site: clear steps, real discussion, and nothing a teacher has to figure out alone.
I'm also the parent of a teenage son who deals with social media, AI and misinformation every day. A lot of what I write starts with a conversation at home. Millions of teenagers face the same questions, and teachers are often the ones expected to help them make sense of it. That's why I started building these resources.
What I make
- Classroom activities on AI, misinformation, social media, privacy, wellbeing and money online for grades 7-12, in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
- The book Digital Wellbeing in the Classroom, a paperback teacher guide with seven ready-to-teach lessons.
- Classroom games that let students practise these skills, with free previews on the games page.
- The blog, with a teaching note for every activity: why the topic matters and how to run it well.
- For fellow TPT sellers: seller guides and Signal Loom, a tool that turns your TPT exports into plain-English store notes. As seen on "Teach Create Sell" from Chris Skierski.
Recognition
I'm a Common Sense Media Recognized Educator for the 2026-2027 school year. That recognizes me as an educator. It is not an endorsement of any Graphene product by Common Sense Media.
How I write
I try to treat students as people who can weigh evidence and reach their own conclusions. The lessons avoid lecturing, point to real research and real cases, and are built so students never have to share anything personal to take part.
